What happens when we find out that we are not alone? How will this change the fabric of our world? Find out in The Solution.
Elvin Hernandez Creator, Writer, and Artist of THE SOLUTION out of Kaiser Studio attempts to answer that in this strange superhero gone horror adventure that explores the mental state of those who witness a world changed forever by the arrival of strange beings with unfathomable power. The book challenges some of the concepts we have about some of the current superheroes we look up to; such as superman.
In the following video Elvin explains how anonymity plays havoc on our minds, and once we are aware of the person behind the mask we then to be more at ease. People tend to like superman because we (the readers) know that he is the mild mannered Clark Kent. However, imagine if you were in your favorite Walmart or Publix buying groceries and he (Superman) were some unknown random guy who starts to spontaneously shoot lasers out his of his eyes… most people more than likely would piss in their pants, pay the cashier, and then check themselves into an insane asylum for good measure.
Besides the amazingly rendered art work, The Solution is well written, and well thought out. The story questions power and its psychological effect on the powerless (average humans), when we see it used; it often scares the crap out of us. For example, footage of the atomic bomb explosion, even though it’s just video footage to most of us, we are often afraid of the potential of it occurring again. On a smaller scale, we tend to tense up if we see a huge aggressive looking muscle bound guy say 6’6” or above because the size and potential strength represents power or in most cases power we do not ourselves possess; and this can be scary to anyone.
Great Job to Elvin and the entire Kaiser Studio team, you peeked my interest and I look forward to reading more of The Solution.
